This project begins with animal figures found in wetland parks and historical bird-and-flower paintings. Instead of reproducing the original images, I extracted their silhouettes and treated them as raw graphic material.

Through layers of translucent tracing paper, repeated covering, and redrawing, the animals gradually lose their recognizable forms. Their identities fade into shadows, contours, and abstract spatial relationships.
In the later stage, oval-based rules are used to reorganize these traces into a pattern system. The result is an objectless visual field, where the original creatures disappear, while a memory of movement, density, and form remains.
